Coma Conversations

Imagine that you were unfortunately involved in a terrible accident.  You hit your head badly, and now you have been in a coma for the past three weeks. However, your family and the doctors have been having conversations all around you.  What they don't know is that you can hear everything that they say! Write a short, creative blog entry about what secrets or interesting gossip you have learned while listening in your coma.

Please respond to this blog in a paragraph.  It can be informal, but you should still use good punctuation and vocabulary.  Write at least 8-10 sentences in your blog response paragraph.  Post your blog in the "Comments" section under this blog post.  Your blog post is due tonight at midnight; late blog posts will not be accepted.

  1. They didn’t know .. They didn’t know that I heard every word they said . Literally everything ! While my dad and my mother were arguing about who is going to spend the night with me , I heard some crazy things that shocked me . Can you imagine that we have been living with my grandmother’s money for 4 months, because my dad had a bankruptcy . No one knew about it, my parents were acting so normal for those months . And the other thing that made me wish I can stay in my coma for more time , is that my parents don’t share the bed anymore for a long time . What really pissed me off is that I heard the word ‘ DIVORCE ‘ in their conversation . I am not sure , but I wish I never heard it .

  3. While The doctor and my family were having a conversation around me, I was listening to them. I got very angry, because they will not say the truth about what happened to me in the accident. The doctor said that I've lost a part of my imagination mind, and that I will become less creative and innovative; which basically means, that my dream will go away and fly. That's why, the doctor told my my family to not say anything to me, or I will be crazy and I will lose the other parts of my mind. After a few minutes, I relaxed and I thanked my God for only losing a small part of my mind. When they came to see me, I didn't react, even if my mom was crying. I acted normally and I didn't ask them what happened to me. Because I know that when God close a door in front of us, there is no doubt that he will open a lot of other doors to arrive to the absolute happiness. The only thing that we should not forget is to be grateful, no matter what situation happened to us; life does not deserve to cry for stupid things and feel sad.

  5. Two months ago, I went out with my best friend Hassan to go to the mall. We were on his motorcycle, when a truck out of nowhere hits us from the side till we flew out in the air. Both of our injuries were very severe which led me to go into a coma. When I was in the hospital, the weirdest thing ever happened to me. Even though I couldn’t move my arms and legs or even twitch my eyes, I was able to hear everything that has been said in the room I was put in. I had heard my mom’s crying which went on for all three weeks, and I had also heard a conversation between my father and the family of my best friend blaming them and their son for what happened to me. My dear brother who was filled with remorse because we fought the last time we had seen each other. I heard him telling me how sorry he is, and that he loves me so much while asking me to hold on to life. This experience was actually very rewarding since after I woke, me and my family realized how precious life is, and how important we are to each other and the love we bear for one another.

  6. After the accident, I felt really bad. I was mentally conscious, but I couldn’t open my eyes. It was awful because I wanted to move and to change position, but I couldn’t. I just wanted to tell my parents that I'm fine and they don't have to worry about me. Poor them. They came every morning to see if there is a progress, if I woke up. One day, I heard something horrible. Indeed, my parents didn't know that I was hearing everything, so they were talking to the doctor near to me. However, my dad told him that it's have been two weeks that I'm in this situation, and he didn’t have enough money to keep me in the hospital. I understood that my dad wanted to disconnect me to the machine which keeps me in life. The thing that surprised me is that my mother didn’t react. I wanted to cry and to scream, but it was impossible. When the doctor heard this speech from my dad, he asked my parents to think again and to not rush. When he was out of the room, my mother sat next to me and said: “Kenza, I don’t know if you are listening or not, but your dad and I love you. We are sorry for what happened to you. You’re so young and beautiful, you should live longer. We always wanted to die before you, because it’s horrible for parents to see their children die. We can’t imagine our life without you, but I think that disconnecting you from the machine is the best thing that we can do. It’s not about money but about you. We can’t see you suffering every day, so we believe that if we do that you’ll go to the haven and be in peace.” When I heard that, I understood. Then, I saw a light coming to me. I was afraid to rejoin it, but I was curious to know what will happen.

  8. Well, I spent three weeks in a coma. It was like another style of life; a life that is extremely bizarre. I was like acting in a fiction movie. I saw many dreams that was like reality. Moreover, I heard all conversations and all what people said around me. I could remember every single word they said all these three weeks. What a great thing, I know many secrets that they are hiding for me, I supposed not to know some information, but no one knows that I was with them in every problem they passed, and I know every person what is go on in his head. In fact, there some bad news. I heard my sister's husband was talking to another women, while my sister is pregnant. What a big problem? I must tell that to her, but she will not believe me at all. How can I explain to her what I heard? Then, I remember my cousin who was begging father to let him marry his sister, so I knew that she is not their real daughter, the poor she is just adopted, oh no! they were supposed to tel her the truth. The most big problem that I couldn't believe, that my best friend was crying next to me, he told that he loves me! I didn't imagine that, maybe it's a dream. Those secrets are dangerous, they may provoke big conflicts. I think I should forget all what I knew. It's really hard to listen to all people's secrets, they can make you in troubles, and lead you to disturbing thoughts.

  9. As we grow old, most of us get to experience the feeling of paralysis; paralysis occurring from the first breath of anesthesia when going through a surgery or tooth extraction. What is special about it that you totally lose control of your body; however, you can still sense things around you. These days I got to experience a similar thing, except that I couldn’t see, nor talk. After a frightful and vicious accident in Rabat/Tangier ‘s highway road, I went in a coma. Throughout this relatively long period, I hoped that I was dead. I’d hear my mother mourning and repeating that my father will forgive me one day, that it will just take a year before he forgets. And, my father, on the other corner of the room, saying that I deserved this. I strove trying to remember what made my parents in such a state, but I couldn’t recall a thing.

  11. I have been in a coma for the past three weeks; unfortunately, I have been conscious and I have been hearing everything my family and the doctor have said. First of all, I have known how much my family care about me. They have stayed all that time waiting me to wake up. Also, I have known that they are worried about what I had done before the accident. Furthermore, I concluded that they had been strict with me because they don't want me make a big mistake. Moreover, I knew that a year of studying has disappeared with all my hard work. For conclusion, being conscious while I have been in coma helps me to know things I couldn't know.

  15. I know that I'm allonged in a hospital bed. I heard people talking around me. That was odd for me, because I can't even answer or talk to them. It was for the first time in my whole life that I feel this feeling. Every night I heard my mom crying, my dad telling her to don't worry and that I will wake up in the coming days. In this time, I knew that my parents love me so much. After few days, I heard my little sister saying to the doctor: “Sir, please tell me that Aymen is going to wake up. Please doctor”. Moreover, she was crying. The terrible thing is that I can’t tell her that I’m here and to don’t worry. Suddenly, my dad sat next to me and said:” l don’t know if you hear me or not, but my man ,my son I promise you that I will be always with you , all your family is with you Aymen . we will never let you.” I had tears on my eyes, I wanted to give him a big hug and kiss to the best dad ever but I couldn’t. Finally, after four months I woke up. All the persons that I know were so happy, and now, I’m here writing you my story and I’m so happy.

  16. I was in a lethargic state. I couldn't even move my little toe; my whole body was paralyzed. All I could see was darkness, my nose was no longer following my brain’s instructions. And then silence was broken by three knocks in what I guessed was a wooden door. At least one of my senses was still working. I heard some footsteps coming towards me. A man cleared his voice and said:” I’ am sorry to tell you this, but your daughter seems to be in a deep coma. “What a coma?” While I was being all shacked up by this statement another voice said almost bursting into tears: «Please doctor, save my baby girl. I cannot let her go like this». The presumed doctor told her in a surprisingly, professional way: “Our team is working on this; we will do all we can, if there is anything else we can do please let us know”. In a great silence I heard footstep diminishing until a door closed. At that moment, all memory of what happened to me came back as a flashing light. I was in my car, driving back home. There was a lot of snow that night. I felt that the automobile was dangerously gliding along the road. That was the last thing I remembered. I guessed that accident didn’t have a happy ending since I was in a coma. As my mind was being puzzled by this matter, I felt someone holding my hand. It was my mother; I could strongly recognize her pressure around my wrist. I felt something wet flowing in my arm. And then I heard the most painful thing in the world, my mother blew up into sobbing. What a living-hell it was to be disarmed in front of this horrible situation. Every day she came and cried, I couldn’t get used to it. Deep down, I cried all along. But after a month I could barely move my fingers, and a short period of time later, I could open my eyes. I almost forgot how the world looked. I was grateful to the skies to feel alive again, and to hold my mother in my arms.
